Remodeling & First Bon Fire

So here are the first remodel pictures. Some before and after shots! The first collage from top going clockwise is the kitchen from the dining room, next photo also showing kitchen (and notice the door which has been torn out and blocked up by now), next photo is the window in dining room which has already been knocked out and will be replaced with french doors today, next is view from the living room with wall that has already been knocked out, last is same wall that has been knocked out with view from dining room.

Here are demo photos of the dividing wall between kitchen/dining and the living room coming down. My sister Ashley helped Alex with demo this particular day as I was home with the kids and Jessie. Once this wall came out the room is HUGE! A great place for parties and entertaining.....

These last two collages are of photos taken yesterday (Sunday Feb 8th). The kids went to Nana & Papa's to take their nap while Alex and I headed over for more demo work after Church. The project of the day - The "lovely and functional" kitchen! :) NOT! It was a very small kitchen and actually when you opened the oven door it almost touched the cabinets on the oposite wall. Alex and I got the entire kitchen knocked out in about an hour...such fun! It's so nice to see all those hideous cabinets gone. I can't WAIT to see my new kitchen cabinets, new dishwasher (old kitchen didn't have one), and flooring done.....everything should be done in about 2 weeks when we move in!

Here is our first bon fire at the new house, kindeling courtesy of the old kitchen! :) I went back to my parents house to pick up the kids around 5:00 or so and took them back to the new house. Emma was so excited to have a bon fire at her house! Emma and Ethan also enjoyed playing on the ramp to Daddy's shed with Ethan's little car he got for his birthday. Alex is especially excited that the house and yard include this very large shed which already had electric run to it!

So that's all I have so far. Alex is going to finish pulling out the cieling in kitchen tonight. Tomorrow he and Dad are going to install the french doors and begin hanging the drywall. Once the drywall is done we are having someone come and tape and mud the drywall as well as spray knock down and new cieling texture on all the main area of the house. After that is painting, laying tile floors in the kitchen/dining and grouting the tile, and then the new kitchen will be installed and we move in! A lot to do in so little time! We are so thankful to my Dad who doing so much to help us get moved in. I love that my Daddy is in construction work! :)
