Tis the Season
The month of December and the season of Christmas is most definately my most favorite time of the year! I love all the decorating, the special parties, the shopping, the keeping of secrets, and of course the magic and wonder of little children as they believe in Santa!
We had a playgroup meeting at the new play area in the mall one day and as we were leaving right outside of Macy's the kids spotted this special mail box with Santa Claus where they could mail letters asking for what they wanted for Christmas! The kids all got so excited and so of course we had to stop and help them all write their letters! Above they are all hovered around the opening, I believe arguing, over who would get to drop in their letter first. Hopefully Santa doesn't count that against any of them for the naughty list! I doubt it!
We also started a new tradition this year with Emma and Ethan that we hope to keep up in the future. We want to help them pick out an ornament every year that represents that year for them, so that one day they can look back on all of them and have great memories from the special ornaments. This year for Emma we were looking for Tinker Bell and for Ethan we looked for Toy Story but I guess since we waited until the week before Christmas to do so (we won't make that mistake next year!) they were all gone...so they picked the next best things, which really still do represent some of the things they love the most! Emma got a Cinderella Ornament, and Ethan picked out a cool Handy Manny on a Motorcycle Ornament! They were so excited to buy them all by their sevles and as soon as we got home they went to put them on the tree in their room! Just think in 15 more years they'll both have a whole tree full of special ornaments!
