Staycation Day 3 - Hollis Gardens

Day three of our Staycation we went to Hollis Gardens after our trip to the Library. This is by far one of our favorite spots in Lakeland and has several sentimental memories as well....Alex's and mine engagement and wedding days! The kids always love to go here and walk thru looking at all the flowers, and during the year the park has different flowers, trees, shrubs, according to season.

Here we are at the Coy Pond. Emma and Ethan's favorite spot. The two of them could lean over the side of this fountain for hours looking at the coy fish. And as usual before we got out of the park we had made at least 2 visits to this spot! I love the pic of the purple flower that Alex took too. So pretty!

A view looking up into the gardens from down below. Right under that pavilion in the back is where Alex and I stood during our wedding ceremony.

Look at these kids. They are growing so fast! Emma and Ethan were calling the ducks to swim accross the lake so they could feed them.

Daddy went down to the steps and took a pic from the other side.

Feeding the Swans on the stairs of Lake Mirror.

Pretty Girl! Although, she was so upset because she kept wanting to pick Mommy some flowers, but couldn't!

Kids will be kids! Emma and Ethan found a hill to climb to the top of right in front of the Lakeland Electric building and then they had to "slide" down the hill.

"Look Momma! I found a HUGE Leave!"

Love this pic that Alex took of me and the kids. If you notice Ethan is saying "cheese"!

Had to get one of the two of us together!

Here is Daddy playing with Emma and Ethan on the hill. They were laying on the ground looking up at the sky trying to find shapes/things in the clouds.

This is in the grotto by the waterfall in the back of the gardens. Emma kept posing for us, Ethan said he was on a "treasure hunt" and his face he was growling at us like a pirate!
