Easter Part 1

Easter Sunday was a busy day for us! We got up and of course went to Church. Emma had so much fun in Sunday School on that particular day because the SS teachers actually hid eggs for all the kids to find - 250 for a group of 20 kids to be exact! I had opted to attend early service that day so I could go home with the kids and get them down for a nap while Alex finished up 2nd service and tear down. Got the kids home, gave them a snack and then off to bed they went. When Alex got home at 1:00 we headed to Grammie and Papa Bates to celebrate with Alex's family. We had a huge delicious lunch which everyone always enjoys, although Aaron I must say was quite dissapointed with no mashed potatoes! :) Here are some pictures before lunch while Grammie and the girls were getting the food prepped and the table set. From left to right clockwise: Isabella our niece, Emma with Gavin her cousin, Ethan kissing Gavin, Alex with his cousin Ellie whom he was holding for the first time since her birth.

Next came the Egg Hunt. The kids had all practiced at Gigi's on Friday so everyone knew exactly what to do, and Emma and Charles gave everyone else a run for their money. I think Charles ended up with 51 eggs on the first try! Not too bad for a 2 year old. We never actually sat and counted Emma's that first time, she was too excited and wanted to do it again. Here's the catch...the first time around all the plastic eggs had prizes or candy in them so when the kids picked them up they would shake them and of course could tell something was inside, so after the first hunt we dumped all the kids prizes out so they could keep them and just hid the eggs the 2nd time around. Emma was HILARIOUS, she tore out the door ready to go get more eggs and ran over to the first plastic egg, shook it, opened it, and THREW it down, ran to the next, shook it, opened it, says "UGH", and threw it down, then turns around and looks at me and said "Mommy!!!! There are NO prizes in these eggs!" Too funny, she was on a mission to get more prizes...oh well, after we explained it to her she was okay and then decided she'd go get as many eggs as she could.

Here is the annual Easter shot of the kids. This is the best one I got with my camera! All six of the kids in the front from Left to Right: Gabe, Gavin, Charles, Isabella, Emma, Ethan (right behind Emma) are Trina's grandkids and the little cutie sitting in the bumbo in the back is Ellie - Alex's cousin.
