Duck Lake (aka Lake Morton)

After we picked out our pumpkins and took photos we headed across the street for a picnic lunch and to feed the ducks. It was a beautiful day! The only thing that would have made it better is if Alex could have joined us.

Ethan was throwing the bread as hard as he possibly could into the lake...I thought he might fall in a few times, but we actually made it home high and dry.

We were able to find a family of the little white ducks (NOT the geese, we do NOT do geese!) and they were so nice and gentle. The kids were even able to feed them out of their hands!

They had a ball, and went thru two loaves of bread way too fast!

I am so thankful for some cooler weather. We had a great summer playing in the water and having fun at the beach but it will be nice to be able to go outside and enjoy outdoor activities without melting in the summer heat! We'll be back to our regularly scheduled picnics quite often now, and hopefully next time Daddy can join us!
