New Pool!

If you haven't checked out your local Craigslist, then you MUST do so! No, this is not a paid advertisement but I just LOVE this site! We've been looking to get a pool for the kids for a while now and finally found one on Craigslist 3 weeks ago. It happened to pop up on Alex's day off and thanks to our good friend Sean, the guys were able to take Sean's truck and go pick it up in Davenport that day. We got this thing for a steal!

Alex and Sean got back to the house and I had put the kids down for a nap (knowing that if they were up they'd just be in the way and of course asking every 2.7 seconds if they could swim yet!). It only took the guys about an hour and half to put it up, it was a pretty easy set up. Below are the "before" yard pictures and while the set up was happening.

Emma and Ethan woke up just in time to start filling the pool up. Emma couldn't wait to "swim" and "float" in her new pool, so of course she attempted both in about 2 inches of water! Ethan had fun spraying his sister witht the hose, but he didn't last too long since it was pretty cold water.

The next afternoon we finished filling it up and Emma and Ethan have been in that thing every day since then! Emma is quite the little fish, she has remembered how to swim from last year really well and she just loves the water. Ethan is getting used to it, he's not too fond of cold water but he will get in for about 5 minutes and he isn't as scared as he once was. We even got him to hold his breath and go under a few times yesterday so swimming classes will be in order for the little man over the next few weeks.

We've really enjoyed our new backyard toy, it's been relaxing and the kids wake up asking to go swimming first thing every morning! I haven't gotten the water bill yet from filling it up...but overall we got a great deal that will bring hours of fun and enjoyment all summer long!
