2009 - Christmas Morning at Nana & Papa's

After we opened our gifts at home, we headed to Nana & Papa's house to see what Santa had left for us there! Christmas is always crazy busy for us as almost all of Alex and my extended families live here in Lakeland, it makes for busy days but always lots of fun.

Emma and Ethan had several gifts left from Santa and by the time we got to Nana & Papa's they were well awake and experts at opening gifts! Emma got an adorable little Vanity for her room, as much as the girl likes playing dress up she has been having a ball with this. Ethan opened his little remote controlled car and has been zooming it all over the house since Christmas, it only has 2 buttons on the controller so it's perfect for little man. If you notice in the top 3 pictures of the above collage there is a large item covered with blankets. The kids were TOTALLY oblivious to this while opening gifts until Nana & Papa told them there was one more thing for them to look under the blankets....a John Deere GATOR! These kids are spoiled to death by my parents! :) Although I'm not sure who was more excited to be totally honest, my Dad or Emma and Ethan! The kids immediately jumped in it and almost ran Nana over in the living room so we decided to take it outside for a few minutes while there was a break in the rain.

To my complete surprise (although I'm not really sure why it surprised me!) the kids caught on very fast. Emma is quite the little driver! Her and Ethan drove that Gator all over my parents yard. When we first took it out it was only in 1st gear but by the end of the morning it had been put into 2nd gear (and it moves!) and of course the jealous Aunts who never got presents like this as a child had to "help" the kids ride it for a while! Aunt Kaley in particular couldn't believe Emma and Ethan had scored so big as "she had ALWAYS wanted one of those"!

You can also see that Emma and Ethan had quite the audience while they tore around the yard. My Aunt Val & Uncle Randy and cousins Caleb & Kristin stayed with my parents while they were in town and got to spend Christmas morning with us as well.

After riding and riding we headed back indoors to warm up a little and have some breakfast. Everyone got to check out the new toys we all got and of course we had several items to put together for the kids. I'm not sure who liked Ethan's remote controlled car more, him or his Daddy! :) Aunt Val & Uncle Randy helped put Emma's vanity doll together and they got a kick out of it since it's been a while since they had to "assemble" on Christmas morning.

Oh and how could I even forget! Mom and Dad got Alex, Me and the kids passes to Sea World for Christmas as Alex and my gift! We are so excited about this and can't wait to take the kids there soon, this will truly be a gift that keeps on giving all year long! :)
